Long Beach is turning up the volume and making waves in the world of live entertainment with the development of a waterfront amphitheater.

Positioned along the scenic coastline near the legendary Queen Mary, this exciting new venue is set to redefine the Southern California music scene and become a must-visit destination for music lovers and performers alike.

The amphitheater is set to operate as a temporary venue for an initial five-year term, with the possibility of extensions and even a future permanent amphitheater in the works. Construction is expected to kick off in the coming months, with completion before the end of 2025.

With a projected 40 events per year, Long Beach Bowl is expected to draw major artists, festivals and cultural celebrations, elevating Long Beach’s reputation as a major player in live entertainment. It is poised to be a game-changer for the economic growth and vitality of the city.

ASM Global/Legends has been tentatively selected to manage day-to-day operations, following a competitive selection process. ASM Global/Legends, which operates the Long Beach Convention & Entertainment Center, also operates more than 400 venues worldwide—including 14 amphitheaters with seating capacities ranging from 5,000 to 20,000. The company will oversee amphitheater’s event bookings, marketing, staffing and noise management to ensure a world-class experience for audiences and the surrounding community.

The amphitheater will occupy five to six acres along Queens Highway—adjacent to the Queen Mary and Harry Bridges Memorial Park—with seating for up to 12,000 attendees. The venue will feature floor and box seats, a pit area, VIP sections and a variety of food and beverage concessions. The city is also exploring transportation options, including shuttle services and designated rideshare zones, to enhance accessibility and sustainability.

With its picturesque waterfront setting, Long Beach is stepping into the spotlight as the go-to destination for live music in Southern California.
